Missed EMIs? Let's close the loan on better terms — and clean up your report.
Overdue EMIs keep hurting your CIBIL every month they stay unpaid. We negotiate with your lender to waive penal interest and late fees, help you clear what's due, and close the loan so it's reported the right way. Settlement is our last resort, not the first.
Three ways to close it — from best to last resort
What your report says at the end matters as much as what you pay. Here's how the options compare.
Clear overdues, then foreclose
Pay the EMIs that are due — typically up to 3 — so your account is regular again. Then close the remaining loan in one go. We negotiate the penal interest, bounce charges and late fees down before you pay.
- Report shows
- "Closed"
- You pay
- Overdues + remaining principal, minus what we get waived
- Best when
- You can arrange the funds now or within a few weeks
Regularise and keep paying
Clear the overdue EMIs and continue the loan as normal. The account goes back to "current" and stops collecting new days-past-due.
- Report shows
- Active, now regular
- You pay
- Overdue EMIs + negotiated charges
- Best when
- You can manage the EMI going forward
Settlement
If you genuinely can't repay in full, we negotiate a one-time amount lower than what you owe. It stops the damage, but the account is reported as "Settled".
- Report shows
- "Settled"
- You pay
- A negotiated lump sum or short plan
- Best when
- Real hardship: job loss, illness, business shutdown
Why "Closed" beats "Settled"
Both end the loan. Lenders read them very differently.
| Closed (paid in full / foreclosed) | Settled | |
|---|---|---|
| What it tells a lender | You repaid everything you owed | The lender accepted less than you owed |
| Effect on future loans | Neutral to positive | Often triggers questions or rejection, especially for home loans |
| Overdue history | Past late months stay, but stop growing | Past late months stay, plus the settled tag |
| Can it be upgraded later? | Already the best status | Sometimes — pay the waived amount and ask the lender to report "Closed" |
Already settled a loan? It may not be final.
Many lenders will update a settled account to "Closed" if you pay the amount they waived. We find out what your lender will accept, get it in writing, and follow up until your CIBIL report shows the change.
How it works
You stay in control. Nothing is paid until you've seen the offer in writing.
Check your report
Create your account and we pull your CIBIL to see every overdue account.
Pick your route
Foreclose, regularise or settle — we show what each costs and what your report will say.
We negotiate
We talk to the lender for waivers on penal interest and charges, and get the final offer in writing.
Close & verify
You pay the lender directly, collect the NOC, and we track your report until it updates.
Questions
Will foreclosure charges eat into my savings?
For floating-rate loans taken for personal (non-business) use and sanctioned or renewed on or after 1 January 2026, RBI rules don't allow lenders to charge you for paying early. Most personal loans are fixed-rate, though, and those may carry a charge set out in your loan agreement and Key Facts Statement. We check your documents and factor it in before you decide.
Why clear the overdue EMIs before foreclosing?
Every month an EMI stays unpaid adds to the days-past-due on your report. Bringing the account current first stops that, and gives us a stronger position to negotiate penalties down on the final payoff.
How much can you get waived?
It depends on the lender, how overdue the account is, and your circumstances. Penal interest, bounce charges and late fees are usually where the room is. We don't promise a number before we've seen your loan.
Will settlement hurt my CIBIL?
Yes. A settled account tells lenders they took a loss, and many will hesitate to lend to you for a while. That's why we treat it as a last resort, and why we try to upgrade settled accounts to "Closed" later.
